Why web developing?
As a kid with no purpose whatsoever, one day, I came across an app called Mimo. The logo had this cute, friendly looking robot, and that was already enough to get my attention. When I clicked on this app to see more information, I was fascinated by the app screenshots – it was all code-related stuff, but at the same time, it seems that everything was explained very well. None of the used terms were hard to understand, and the lessons were short and quick.

I got so addicted to this app that I ended up doing whole courses – specifically, I did ALL the HTML, CSS and JavaScript lessons (at least, all of the ones that were available back in 2019).
It was clear: I wanted to know more, and for that, I needed to enroll in a more specialized course. I got lucky enough and I ended up enrolling in a vocational school called CIFP Majada Marcial that allowed me to study Web Developing itself.

My journey when learning
You wouldn’t imagine how surprised I was when I realized how much stuff goes behind what a user actually sees versus what the user does NOT see… To this day, I’m still thankful that technologies such as frameworks or language extensions exist, otherwise, I feel like there would be WAY less interest on Web Developing.
To be fair, web pages have become incresingly harder to make due to the simple fact that there is more room for what you can do with them:
I remember that most websites back in the day were mostly just for information stuff. This is why most of them only had a fixed text for each section and that’s it.
Others, just for promotional stuff, such as videogames and software programs – you could download said videogame or software program, and the website usually had a forum, so people would either search for help if the application would run into some kind of error or just talk about possible future updates.
But now everything is SOOOO different! Websites now allow you to do SO many things! You can now: buy and sell goods, watch livestreams, message someone live, edit photos and videos, take care of your bank account, etcetera.

Honestly, even though that now making a website feels like an impossible task, I appreciate a lot how many ways you can build one now: you have CMS (Content Management Systems) such as WordPress, app builders such as Appsmith and if you dare to be brave enough, you can build one from stratch, writing the code yourself.
So many options! And the best thing is that studying at CIFP Majada Marcial allowed me to adapt to each way. If you are able to understand the basic code and its purpose, you eventually learn how to use the bigger tools. This is how I actually learned.
My learning experience not only taught me how to get into Web Developing, but as well it increased my interest on technology, making me eager for what’s to come in the future!
Conclusion
Learning Web Developing was a rollercoaster, but I’m honestly grateful for it: being able to understand how much hard work goes into each website makes me apprecciate a lot what I’m capable of doing online. I just hope that one day, I myself can feel that I can give the same feeling to someone else.
